Special Alloy
Unbeatable value for money
Economical, environmentally friendly and durable, Tecnica Press Special Alloy is up to 10 times more impact resistant than aluminum and twice as resistant to yielding, making it a viable alternative to brass. There is a wide range of ennobling finishes: brass-plating, gold-plating, silver-plating, chrome-plating or nickel-plating; in glossy, matte, satin, antique or oxidized versions; and both powder and liquid coating.
You will fall in love with our Special Alloy, a “technical ZAMAK”, an alloy consisting of the purest zinc combined with specific percentages of copper, aluminum and magnesium. The fusion of these noble metals enhances the qualities of each individual element, from this formula we obtain the best substitute for brass alloys.
Tecnica Press can boast more than 45 years of experience gained in the field of metallurgy, a period in which we have never stopped investing and experimenting in order to find “the ultimate metal alloy,” one that can offer high technical-quality standards at an extremely competitive price.
Our zinc-based Special Alloy, offers remarkable performance, great potential and numerous advantages, starting with cost.
The low melting point of the metal results in significant savings on the machining process; this means less energy is used during die casting, compared with other similar alloys and metals.
This aspect also has a positive impact on the durability of the molds, which, by undergoing reduced thermal stress, will require less maintenance for higher part production over time.
An ecological choice
Less energy expenditure for production also means less impact on the environment, with reduced emissions in both air and water; choosing our technical ZAMAK alloy means first and foremost contributing considerably to environmental sustainability.
Scrap and production waste, can be melted again and thus be recycled and reused many times over time.
Perceivable quality
Compared to other light alloys, plastics or resins, the Special Alloy developed by Tecnica Press, has a fairly high specific weight. When weighing an accessory made of technical ZAMAK, the immediate feeling is a pleasing, solid consistency, typical of “objects of yesteryear.”
The tactile feel does not lie either, immediately communicating that it is a thick metal due to its temperature and the vibrating sound emitted when ticked.
A class A material
Although it does not reach the lofty levels of solid brass, while equaling it in many respects, our Special Alloy is a reliable, respectable material, a technical ZAMAK specially designed to offer the best, in specific formulations, depending on the product offered.
Suffice it to say that nowadays we are surrounded by objects made of less noble zamak alloys (also known as zamac); in fact, door handles, belt and bag buckles, faucets, furniture hinges, coat hangers, corkscrews, keys, buttons, medals, and even very fine costume jewelry are made from this material.
